Service terms & cancellation

Simply UK Claims Ltd provides commercial assessment and recovery services for businesses. We are registered in Scotland under SC826187, with our registered office at 50 Darnley Street, Glasgow, Scotland, G41 2SE. Contact us at hello@simplyukclaims.co.uk.

This page explains our service arrangements. Your written agreement confirms the matters covered, fees, authority and the terms you accept before instructing us.

Business Review and service scope

We discuss the costs you want to review and agree the scope with you. Our services cover Scottish Business Rates and commercial Electricity, Gas and Water charges. The paid assessment examines the relevant documents and explains whether the evidence supports further action. Where it does, we explain the options and pursue the correction or recovery within your agreed instruction.

We provide services with reasonable skill and care. If we find no issue or no grounds for action, we explain our conclusion. No correction, saving or recovery is guaranteed.

Assessment fees and VAT

The assessment fee is £350 + VAT for one review matter, £495 + VAT for two, £645 + VAT for three, and £795 + VAT for four. Five or more matters require a bespoke quote. Simply UK Claims is VAT registered.

One business-rates assessment, electricity supply, gas supply or water supply selected for review counts as one review matter. We confirm the scope and number of matters, including any multiple premises or supplies, before you accept the fee.

The assessment fee pays for the document-based review whether or not further action or recovery is supported, subject to the cancellation and refund policy below. See the assessment-fee table.

Success fees

The agreed success fee is 20% + VAT per matter. For Business Rates, it is calculated on the qualifying saving over the first 24 months following the relevant reduced value taking effect. For Electricity, Gas and Water, it is calculated on the qualifying recovery, including credits, under your agreed terms.

Your agreement confirms the qualifying benefit, calculation, relevant effective date and when the fee is invoiced. Recoveries are paid or credited to you; our fees are invoiced separately.

Instruction and authority

Before you proceed, we confirm the scope, fee and terms and provide the instruction and authority documents for your acceptance. The person instructing us must be authorised to act for the business. We may need a separate Letter of Authority for the organisation concerned.

Our authority is limited to the agreed matters and actions. Where the agreed instruction includes pursuing a supported correction or recovery, that authority continues for those matters until completion or termination under your agreement. Any additional scope or authority requires agreement with you.

A Business Review Specialist may explain the process and guide you. You personally accept the terms and complete payment using your own device through the agreed route. The Specialist does not accept terms or handle card credentials on your behalf.

Payment and preparing your file

After your instruction is accepted, the office provides the approved payment instructions. Available payment methods are confirmed when you proceed. Once payment is verified, we confirm receipt and prepare your file for the agreed work.

File preparation can include receiving and organising documents, confirming identity and authority, and arranging the next steps. Substantive assessment and external action proceed in accordance with the cancellation policy and your agreed instruction.

Cancellation and refunds

Our contractual policy gives you 14 days from confirmed payment to cancel and receive a full refund of the assessment fee. To cancel, email hello@simplyukclaims.co.uk with your name, business name and matter reference, if available, and clearly state that you wish to cancel. The office will confirm the cancellation and refund arrangements.

We may carry out administrative and preparatory steps during this period. Substantive assessment and external action on the merits of the matter begin after the period has ended and the work is authorised. Preparatory work does not reduce the full assessment-fee refund available if you cancel within the 14-day period.

After that period, cancellation and any fees due are governed by the written agreement you accepted. This is a contractual cancellation policy; any statutory rights that apply are unaffected.

To change or cancel a Business Review appointment, contact the office with the appointment details so we can arrange the change with you.

Your responsibilities

Provide accurate and complete information relevant to the agreed matter, tell us about material changes, and supply requested documents and decisions promptly. Tell us about any relevant deadline or correspondence from another organisation. We confirm which actions and deadlines we have agreed to handle.

Continue to meet your payment and other obligations to councils or suppliers unless they agree otherwise. A review or challenge does not itself suspend those obligations.

Direct approaches, settlements and credits

Tell us promptly about any direct approach, offer, payment, credit, adjustment, settlement, reduction or other qualifying benefit relating to a matter we have identified or pursued for you. Provide the relevant correspondence so we can confirm the effect on your case and any agreed fee.

Where a qualifying benefit arises from the matter we have identified or pursued, receiving it directly or concluding the matter directly does not, by itself, remove the agreed success-fee entitlement. The fee remains subject to the scope, qualifying-benefit definition and calculation in your accepted agreement. This does not create a fee for an unrelated benefit.

Complaints and personal information

If you are unhappy with our service, email hello@simplyukclaims.co.uk with the issue, your contact details and any matter reference. We will review the complaint and explain our response and the next steps.

Our privacy notice explains how we use and protect personal information for enquiries and instructed services.
